Understand how Lifts work before you render.
Lifts are the credits used to create, review, and download product images in RenderLift. This guide explains what each workflow uses and what to expect before you start.

Lift basics
What is a Lift?
A Lift is the credit used to create a product image result in RenderLift.
Lifts are how RenderLift usage is measured
A Lift is the credit used when RenderLift creates a product image result. Different workflows use different numbers of Lifts depending on what you ask RenderLift to do.
Lift basics
- A Lift is used to create a product image result.
- Most standard 1K and 2K image results use 1 Lift.
- 4K results use more because they create a larger output.
- Transparent and Bulk have their own pricing rules.
- RenderLift shows the expected Lift cost before supported workflows run.
Think of Lifts as usage credits
You choose the workflow, review the expected cost, then use Lifts to create results.
Common Lift costs
Most single-image workflows are simple: 1 Lift for standard output, 2 Lifts for 4K.
Most product image workflows are easy to estimate
For standard product image cleanup, the main factor is output size. Smaller ecommerce-ready outputs usually use fewer Lifts than larger 4K outputs.
Standard image workflows
1K or 2K output
- Most standard product image results use 1 Lift.
- Good for ecommerce listings, store images, and common web use.
- Best starting point for most sellers.
4K output
- 4K results use 2 Lifts.
- Best for larger, higher-resolution exports.
- Useful when you need more image detail or flexibility.
Simple rule
- 1K or 2K standard output = 1 Lift.
- 4K standard output = 2 Lifts.
- Review the cost before starting.
Transparent Lift pricing
Transparent pricing depends on whether you only remove the background or clean up the image first.
Transparent has two workflows
Just Transparent removes the background only. Transparent + Lift cleans up the product image first, then removes the background.
Transparent pricing
Just Transparent
- Background removal only.
- Best when the product photo already looks good.
- 1 Lift at any size.
Transparent + Lift
- Cleans up the image first.
- Then removes the background.
- 2 Lifts for 1K or 2K.
- 3 Lifts for 4K.
Choose the lowest workflow that solves the job
Use Just Transparent when the photo already looks good. Use Transparent + Lift when the photo needs cleanup before becoming a cutout.

Bulk Lift previews
Bulk shows the estimated Lift cost before a batch runs.
Bulk cost is based on the batch
Bulk is built for catalog batches of 5–50 product photos. Before the batch runs, RenderLift should show the number of photos, selected workflow, output size, and estimated Lift cost.
Example previews
Standard batch
- 12 photos selected.
- 1K or 2K output.
- 12 photos × 1 Lift = 12 Lifts.
4K batch
- 20 photos selected.
- 4K output.
- 20 photos × 2 Lifts = 40 Lifts.
Bulk rules
- Bulk starts at 5 photos.
- Bulk supports up to 50 photos at a time.
- For one image, use the regular Lift workflow.
- Review the Lift preview before starting the batch.
- If your balance is too low, add Lifts before running the batch.

Try again and technical issues
Technical issues and preference retries are handled differently.
Review happens before you finalize
RenderLift separates technical completion from review. If something does not complete properly on our end, the Lifts for that attempt are returned automatically. If the result completes but you want a different version, your first Try again is included before you finalize.
What happens?
Something does not complete properly
- The attempt does not produce a completed result.
- The Lifts for that attempt are returned automatically.
- You can try again after the issue is resolved.
The result completes
- The image is available for review.
- You can keep it, leave it out, or use Try again.
- Your first Try again is included before you finalize.
What to expect
- Technical issues return Lifts automatically when something does not complete properly.
- Completed results include a first Try again before you finalize.
- Additional attempts after the included Try again may use more Lifts.
- Review final images before publishing.
Completed does not mean published
A completed result is still yours to review. Check the product, label, color, crop, edge quality, and final use before publishing.
Downloads and re-downloads
Downloading a finalized image does not use another Lift.
Downloads do not create a new image
Lifts are used to create image results. Downloading a finalized result does not create a new result, so it does not use another Lift.
Download rules
- Final download = no extra Lift
- Re-downloads are free
- New versions may use more Lifts
- Bulk downloads include selected results only
Review before finalizing to make sure you download the right version.
Download selected in Bulk
In Bulk, selected downloads help you export only the images you approved instead of every result in the batch.

Choosing the right Lift workflow
Use the simplest workflow that solves the job.
Start with the job you need done
The right workflow depends on whether you need one product image, a transparent cutout, a higher-resolution output, or a catalog batch.
Which workflow should you use?
Regular Lift
- One product photo.
- Main listing image.
- Product-page image.
- Testing a template.
Transparent
- Product cutout.
- Banner or ad asset.
- Design placement.
- Background removal.
Bulk
- 5–50 product photos.
- Catalog cleanup.
- Store launch.
- Marketplace refresh.
Use Bulk only when it is really a batch
Bulk is built for catalog batches of 5–50 product photos. For one image, use the regular Lift workflow.
What to expect when using Lifts
Review the cost, create the result, then finalize the image you want.
A simple Lift flow
Choose a workflow.
Pick regular Lift, Transparent, or Bulk.
Review the expected cost.
Check how many Lifts the workflow will use before starting.
Create the result.
RenderLift creates the image result for review.
Review before finalizing.
Check product details, label, color, edge quality, and crop.
Use Try again if needed.
If a completed result needs another look, your first Try again is included before you finalize.
Download when ready.
Downloading and re-downloading a finalized image does not use additional Lifts.
Calm rule of thumb
Lifts are for creating results. Downloads are for saving results. Review helps you decide which result is ready.

- You reviewed the result before publishing it anywhere.
